ScottishPower Business Tariffs 2025

ScottishPower has supplied businesses in the UK since 1992. It prides itself as being at the forefront of sustainability – being the UK’s first energy company to generate 100% green electricity.

It offers a variety of business energy tariffs for SMEs and large commercial organisations.

For small businesses, it has the For Business and Renewable for Business tariffs. These ScottishPower business tariffs consist of two elements

  • Fixed price element – this covers the cost of any energy ScottishPower supplies your business; because it’s fixed, you’re protected against any pricing volatility on the wholesale market.
  • Variable price element – this covers the costs of industry charges, which can change on a quarterly basis; they include Distribution Use of System (DUOS), Transmission Use of System (TNUoS), Balancing Services Use of System (BSUOS), Renewables Obligation (RO), Gas Transportation Charges and the Green Gas Levy.
    • these variable costs change quarterly – 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st

It also offers businesses of all sizes a variety of fixed and variable tariffs, including half-hourly and non-half-hourly options. The variable contracts have no fixed length or exit fees, providing flexibility – albeit with exposure to wholesale market price changes.

SMEs also benefit from a range of payment methods – including Direct Debit payments (variable monthly or quarterly instalments or fixed monthly instalments). There’s also the option to pay monthly at a PayPoint of via a BACS transfer – however, it is more expensive than Direct Debit.

Pay as you go, top-up keys or cards and SMART PP top-up are also there to provide maximum flexibility for small businesses – helping them to ensure they have total control over the gas and electricity they use.
