Save time and money with Digital Renewals

Too busy to think about your energy contract? Utility Bidder can renew it for you.

When you sign up for Digital Renewals, we automatically compare quotes from our panel of suppliers when renewal time comes, so you don’t have to

Your new contract is lined up ahead of time, keeping you off pricey out-of-contract rates and there’s no need for a phone call. We can sort your renewal without you needing to lift a finger.

What are Digital Renewals?

Digital Renewals is our renewal service for business gas and business electricity. Rather than chasing quotes as your contract end date approaches, you let us find and secure your next deal.

Energy admin rarely makes it to the top of a busy business owner’s list, and every call to a supplier takes a chunk out of your day. Once you’ve opted in, we do the comparing and the arranging.

All you need to do is check your inbox. And if you’ve not got time for that, we can sort out the renewal anyway.

Thousands of businesses already trust us to handle their renewals. Here are three good reasons to join them.

  • Less admin: No comparison sites to trawl and no calls to make. Reply to our email to confirm or simply leave it and we’ll take care of the rest.
  • Lower costs: Pooling the demand of our renewal customers gives us the leverage to negotiate exclusive prices. And because you renew on time, you won’t be caught by out-of-contract charges, which typically run 30–50% above contracted prices.
  • Protection from market volatility: Securing your contract well in advance limits your exposure to sudden price volatility. The rate you get will never be higher than what we’d offer to a new customer that day.

How Digital Renewals work

Comparing quotes over the phone takes time you probably don’t have, and missing your contract end date can cost you. Our Digital Renewals service takes care of both in three steps.

  1. Sign up and set your preferences. Tell us which suppliers you’re happy to use and what matters to you on price.
  2. We compare rates from our panel. Well before your end date, we compare quotes from our supplier panel to find the strongest option for your business.
  3. Check, decide and renew. We email your quote. You have three days to respond, and if we don’t hear from you, we complete the renewal on your behalf.

Why let us handle your renewal?

For most business owners, comparing energy tariffs ranks well below serving customers or growing the business. For many, there’s also nobody to delegate it to – around three-quarters of UK private sector businesses are run by the owner alone, with no staff. Every hour spent on admin is an hour of your own time.

Digital Renewals takes the job off your plate. We check prices across our supplier panel, weigh up the options and have your next contract ready before the current one runs out.

No manual comparison. No phone calls. No scramble before the deadline.

Stay off costly out-of-contract rates

If your fixed contract finishes without a replacement in place, your supplier can switch you to its out-of-contract rates. Unlike household energy, business energy isn’t covered by a price cap, and these rates commonly sit between 30% and 50% higher than a fixed deal. A missed renewal can mean a sudden jump in your bills.

Because we arrange your new contract ahead of time, you don’t need to keep track of renewal windows or end dates yourself.

Strength in numbers

We work with a panel of established business energy suppliers and use the combined volume of our Digital Renewals customers to negotiate terms. Arranging renewals early strengthens our position and helps us secure competitive prices.

Your Digital Renewals rate will be equal to or lower than the price Utility Bidder could offer you on the day your renewal is arranged.

 The benefits of renewing early

Wholesale energy prices can move quickly. Getting your renewal done early can help you:

  • Limit your exposure to price swings
  • Lower the risk of landing on expensive rollover tariffs
  • Have your next contract confirmed before the current one expires
  • Spend less time on the renewal itself

Leaving it late raises the chance of higher prices or a missed deadline. Digital Renewals takes that risk away.

Worried about overlap? Renewing early doesn’t end your current contract. Your new one is simply queued up and begins the day your existing deal finishes, with no gap between.

Business Energy Renewal FAQs

Still have questions? You’ll find answers to the most common ones below, or you can contact us on 01858 452 579 or digitalrenewals@utilitybidder.co.uk.

Is there a charge for Digital Renewals?
No. We’re paid a commission by the supplier, and we’ll tell you how much it is before your contract is arranged. There are no hidden fees, and the price we quote is the price you’ll pay.
Do I get a say in which supplier you choose?
Yes. You can stay with your current supplier or exclude any you’d prefer not to use. If we recommend switching, it’s because the new supplier is offering a better rate than your existing one.
How far ahead do you arrange my renewal?
Typically, between six and twelve months before your current contract ends.
Why is my quote only valid for three days?
Energy prices change quickly, so suppliers only hold a quoted rate for a limited time. Thanks to our supplier agreements, your quote is held for longer than it would be if you went to the supplier directly.
Can I postpone my renewal?
Yes. When your quote email arrives, you can choose to delay the renewal or not renew at all.
How do I leave Digital Renewals?
Call us on 01858 452 579 or email digitalrenewals@utilitybidder.co.uk before your new contract is signed.
Can I change my mind once the contract is signed?
Business energy contracts don’t come with a cooling-off period, so please read your renewal email carefully before confirming.
What should I do if I’ve moved premises or closed my business?
Let us know by calling 01858 452 579 or by emailing digitalrenewals@utilitybidder.co.uk before we arrange your next contract.

Utility Bidder takes all the hassle out of sorting through the mine field of service providers and provides a professional and time efficient way of securing a competitive price for my energy needs.

Kenneth Wooding

Having previously spoken with a rival broker whose consultants I felt were pressuring me into signing a contract immediately, Kirsty Schofield was a breath of air. She found a cheaper and shorter contract to suit my needs and was very friendly and efficient. She made renewing my energy contract a pleasant experience instead of a dreaded chore.”

Steph Howes

First class service from Sarah at Utility Bidder, I have been with them for a couple of years now and wouldn’t go elsewhere and would certainly recommend.
